Egham, 18th September 2008 This year, Verbatim is appearing at photokina in Cologne for the first time, and unveiling a raft of new products for film and photography. The highlight for camcorder fans is Verbatims HD Video SDHC flash card, which features impressively high data transfer rates and can record videos in superb HD quality. With the SDHC card, which can store up to 16GB, a CompactFlash card that can hold 16GB and a MicroSDHC card with a capacity of 8GB, Verbatim will be launching three further memory giants onto the market in the autumn. The PhotoSave DVD for the simple back-up of all photos, the card reader series for mobile storage convenience and the new Colour Lightscribe DVD-R/+R and Lightscribe Double Layer DVD+R DL round off the photography portfolio. Verbatim will be showcasing its products in Hall 5.1 at Stand F11. Fast HD Video SDHC for videos at double film length
The new Verbatim HD Video SDHC has been developed especially for use in camcorders, but it guarantees best-quality photos in cameras too. In the best class, class 6, the HD Video SDHC writes at a speed of 9MB/s (66x) and reads at 20MB/s (133x). The 4GB card can store 90 minutes of video with an average picture resolution. The 8GB SD card can hold 180 minutes or 1 hour in maximum resolution. The cards are available right now from stores. MicroSDHCs with 4GB and 8GB storage capacity
Also in speed class 6, the small Verbatim MicroSDHC cards can store 4GB or 8GB of data. The adapter in SD standard size facilitates the simple and convenient transfer of data between the PC and mobile phone. The MicroSDHCs from Verbatim are available now.
Thousands of photographs in first-class quality on SDHC and CompactFlash
Verbatims class 6 32GB SDHC card offers space for around 9,000 pictures in JPEG format with a resolution of 8 Megapixels, or 12 hours of video recording for HD camcorders with an average resolution or 4 hours in the best HD super mode. The 32GB SDHC card will be available from stores from the end of this year.
PhotoSave DVD can save more than 80 different formats
If the flash memory is full, pictures can be burned onto the PhotoSave DVD from Verbatim. This DVD, which has a capacity of 4.5GB, recognises more than 80 different photo formats and saving them is childs play, with just three clicks.
The PhotoSave DVD can be burned in multi-sessions until the disk is full. The PhotoSave Videobox is available from stores from autumn.
New Lightscribe DVDs in five different colours
The first provider ever to do so, Verbatim is unveiling a world innovation: the Lightscribe Double Layer DVD+R DL with 8.5GB of storage capacity. The Colour Lightscribe DVD-R/+Rs with five different expressive colours are also new. They come in a 5-pack slim case, and are available to buy from stores now.
New card reader series for all memory cards
Rapid reading and writing to Flash storage media is now even easier, thanks to the new USB card readers from Verbatim: there is a pocket card reader for MicroSD/MicroSDHCs, SD/MiniSDs and memory sticks. The Universal Memory Card Reader USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, which has five slots for all common memory card formats, offers superlative convenience. The card readers are available right now from stores.
All this and much more will be on show between the 23rd and the 28th of September 2008 at photokina in Hall 5.1, Stand F11.
