Verbatim eSATA/USB Combo SSD 32GB

Istanbul 28 October 2009 – One device, two integrated interfaces: with the Combo SSD drive, Verbatim is combining the advantages of an eSATA high-speed connection with the user-friendliness of a USB drive. The powerful SSD Flash storage technology can transfer up to 32GB. The password-protection software EasyLock™ and 256-bit AES encryption keeps confidential data secure.

The eSATA interface of the Verbatim Combo SSD drive delivers read access speeds of up to 60MB/sec and write access speeds of up to 25MB/sec, while the conventional USB 2.0 interface enables data to be read at speeds of up to 26MB/sec and written at speeds of up to 15MB/sec.

The completely portable, built-in EasyLock™ software simultaneously encrypts documents as they are transferred to the Combo SSD drive. EasyLock™ software guarantees 256-bit AES software encryption and minimises the risk of data loss and theft. (For older eSATA ports that do not carry current, there is a separate Y-cable included that creates a functioning eSATA port from the USB (power) and eSATA (data).)

The eSATA/USB Combo SSD works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It is 80x23x9 millimetres in dimension and weighs just 19 grams. It comes with a 24 month guarantee and costs £144.99 (RRP) from specialist retailers.
